Poet in the City has been awarded funding by Arts Council England to collaborate with the British Library in establishing a new approach to touring exhibitions.
Poet in the City will commission new poetry and create events across England to tell the story of British Library exhibitions. Working with audiences in the North, South East and South West, they will present locally-specific versions of the tour. Libraries within the British Library’s Living Knowledge Network will become homes for Poet in the City’s ambitious live poetry programmes – this will create new opportunities for libraries to access exhibitions which would otherwise be out of reach to their audiences due to touring limitations.
Poet in the City and the British Library have had a longstanding relationship over many years, being partners in the Knowledge Quarter has deepened the collaboration and both organisations are excited to work together on this upcoming national project.
