Introducing the new KQ Events Programme 2023-24

The Knowledge Quarter is launching a new events programme, designed to platform, connect and create knowledge. What’s more, our members and local stakeholders will be at the heart of it. Using our programme areas as a guide for content, we invite you to shape and define what we explore and what we do as an organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to propose talks and workshops for the benefit of our members and the public, and to pitch problems and subject areas that require fresh and collective thinking.

See below for a detailed description of each programme area, and use our new KQ Events Form to submit event proposals for consideration. This is an open-ended call for content. We aim to respond to all proposals within a month.

Our Focus Areas

KQ Connect encompasses our exclusive exhibition private views and summer walking tours of the area. We want to create informal spaces for staff at Knowledge Quarter partners, local residents and stakeholders to better know their neighbours’ spaces, the local area and the unique collections contained within it.

Use the KQ Events Form to register interest in holding a Knowledge Quarter Private View of a forthcoming exhibition.

We aim to bring about deep knowledge sharing between experts and across disciplines. Under KQ Convene, we’ll be relaunching our Professional Network Groups, where staff can meet and learn from their counterparts at other institutions; A new Lunch & Learn series of hour-long talks, featuring experts from our institutions; and Community Learning sessions, a new forum for two-way learning between researchers, practitioners and local residents.

Use the KQ Events Form to propose a Lunch & Learn talk, or a Community Learning session.

We want to identify and address local, national and global challenges collectively. Our new series of high-impact and output-driven events will do just that by bringing together experts, facilitators and passionate individuals to interrogate important challenge areas.

Use the KQ Events Form to outline a challenge area for our members to explore collectively.

Every year the KQ Conference shines a spotlight on the diverse activity of Knowledge Quarter partners, exhibiting the power of our place-based innovation and collaboration. Future conferences will be the culmination of our events programme, an opportunity to present the results of KQ Challenge events, Lunch & Learns and Community Learning sessions.

A dedicated call-for-content for the next Knowledge Quarter Conference will go live in early 2024.
