Dee late: rediscovering the lost world of John Dee

Knowledge Quarter partners are invited to a special evening exploring Tudor polymath extraordinaire John Dee. Features late opening of the acclaimed exhibition, film screening and one woman play on Dee’s life seen through his daughter’s eyes.

School of Advanced Study Open Day

Knowledge Quarter partners are invited to the School of Advanced Study’s Open Day. The event will showcase the school’s vast array of resources and will feature, amongst other activities, a special spoken-word performance by Bards without Borders in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.

Inspire!’s Get Ready for Work Experience

Volunteers are needed for Inspire!’s Get Ready for Work Experience programme at William Ellis School in Camden. They will support students to identify the skills and qualities required for the work environment and share their own work experiences to highlight employer expectations.

Camden Council and Knowledge Quarter launch KQ Apprenticeships

The Knowledge Quarter in partnership with Camden Council launched the new Knowledge Quarter Apprenticeship programme last Tuesday 16th of February at Wellcome Collection reading room. The scheme was formally announced by Councillor Georgia Gould, Cabinet Member for Young People and Economic Growth, at a successful reception marking the one-year anniversary of the Knowledge Quarter.

Knowledge Quarter: One Year On

Knowledge Quarter partners, supporters and staff met at Wellcome Collection to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Knowledge Quarter and to announce our KQ Apprenticeship scheme in partnership with Camden Council – a Life Sciences apprenticeship programme developed with world leading organisations such as The Francis Crick Institute, Health Services Laboratories and the London Bioscience Innovation Centre.

Energy Storage – Small Solutions to Big Problems

The Café Nano series, from the Knowledge Quarter’ partner IOM3, returns on 24th February, with an energy theme. Professor Peter Bruce, FRS Department of Materials, University of Oxford will present Energy Storage – Small Solutions to Big Problems, followed by networking drinks in the newly renovated venue at 297 Euston Road.

The Academic Book in the South

Knowledge Quarter’s partner, the British Library, presents the two day conference ‘The Academic Book in the South’ on 7th and 8th March 2016. Speakers will address the production, dissemination, reading and reception of the academic book with specific focus on Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.
