What Is Light: a series of lightning talks from the Knowledge Quarter Tickets, Fri 22 Oct 2021 at 17:00 | Eventbrite

The Bloomsbury Festival celebrates contemporary Bloomsbury; a hotbed of creativity and pioneering development which has one of the youngest and most diverse populations in the country.

Through work with hundreds of local partners, Bloomsbury Festival amplifies cultural development and engagement in the community and provides opportunities for practitioners of all genres to enrich their creative practice. Working with partners from across Bloomsbury’s diverse academic, professional and resident community the Shining Light theme will act as a catalyst to a wide spectrum of events including outdoor exhibitions and installations, music, dance, theatre, talks, walks and more.

The programme places the stories of the people, places and cultures of Bloomsbury at it’s heart, taking the creative talent of local established institutions and adding in emerging talent with new themes and threads – shining light on the tradition of freethinking and celebrating the ‘rebels’ within Bloomsbury.

This year, the KQ will present an hour of lightning talks on the theme of ‘What is Light in the Knowledge Quarter?’ exploring everything from enlightenment to illumination, from scientific, cultural, and historic perspectives.

Call for submissions:

The Knowledge Quarter is looking for partners to submit ideas for interesting and inspiring Lightning Talks for this session. Each speaker will be allocated 7 minutes to present 20 slides for 21 seconds each.
