Private views at The Postal Museum, London Canal Museum, & more

In April 2025, Jodie Eastwood received the world’s first Innovation District Champion award in Monterrey, Mexico.

It’s official: last month, Knowledge Quarter was nominated as one of the best innovation districts in the world at the Global Institute of Innovation Districts’ (GIID) Global Summit 2025. Our CEO was also crowned the first-ever global ‘District Champion.’

These recognitions reflect the incredible work of our member organisations and community, and we can’t wait to keep building on this momentum.

In May, we’re uncovering some hidden histories of the Knowledge Quarter with our morning private view and curator-led tours at the latest exhibitions. At The Postal Museum, learn how the 19th-century British postal system relied on the exploitation of enslaved people, and how newly unearthed letters in the museum’s archive reveal their lives and resistance. At the London Canal Museum, explore how Britain’s canals, built by thousands of workers under harsh conditions, reshaped the nation’s economy – and the KQ itself.

Make the most of the lengthening days in the KQ – whether you’re supporting local creativity at the Chalton Street Market, discovering handmade treasures at Cockpit Arts’ craft fair (with free VIP Preview tickets for KQ members), diving into film and quantum magic, or learning something new at WM College’s summer school.

Here’s to sunny days and brighter ideas ahead – see you out there.
