Knowledge Quarter Partners Meet with Sir Keir Starmer MP

Last week, a number of Knowledge Quarter partners met with Sir Keir Starmer, Member of Parliament for Holborn and St Pancras, over breakfast. A large porportion of Knowledge Quarter organisations are based within Sir Keir’s constiuency. The event was hosted in one of the galleries of the British Museum.

Partners heard about Keir’s priorities for his local constituency, for London and on the national level. Keir praised the sheer breadth of voluntary and knowledge-based organisations contained within the local area. Issues discussed included air quality, housing and the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

One pertinent quesiton which partners discussed was what the new role of knowledge-based organisations was in a new political landscape; particularly given the rise of so-called ‘post-truth’ politics. The Knowledge Quarter agreed to look at this in greater detail.
