Westminster Kingsway and City and Islington Colleges Form New Group
Westminster Kingsway and City and Islington Colleges have merged to form a dynamic and ambitious new Group on 1 August 2016. With a combined enrolment of over 26,500 students and a combined income of £85 million, the two founding colleges will create the largest FE institution in London and be able to lead the reinvigoration of the capital’s evolving further education sector.

Knowledge Quarter Public Realm Charrette
Martin Sach, chair of the Knowledge Quarter Public Realm Environment and Sustainability Subgroup illustates the group tasks and on-going projects: the area-wide audit now reaching completion and the design charrette planned for September 2016. this would be an oportunty for KQ partner to share ideas, engaging with local authorities and seeking ways in which the Knowledge Quarter can be an enabler of progress.

The Curious? festival of Futures the best and biggest Knowledge festival in London took place at King's Cross Saturday 23 of July envisaging the future of King’s Cross and the Knowledge Quarter, through breakthrough research, tech and communities developments. King’s Cross was populated by a curious crowd made of adults, students and families who came to explore many activities, workshops and performances.

Julia Bennett, Head of Research and Policy at the Craft Council, writes about the emergence of a market for craft innovation skills in industries as diverse as healthcare, biotech and the automotive industry. Julia explores how the close proximity of creatives and makers to research institutions and science innovators in the Knowledge Quarter could generate exciting collaboration.

Welcome to New Knowledge Quarter partners
Eight new partners have joined London’s Knowledge Quarter (KQ) today, bringing the number of organisations involved to 73. The total number of partners is now more than double the number involved at the initial launch of the partnership.
