KQ Networks: Archiving Professionals

These meet-ups provide a forum for archiving and digitising professionals from across the Knowledge Quarter where they can discuss the challenges and opportunities in their current work, share best practises and look towards future technologies with regards to digital archives.

Next Archiving Professionals event:

Please email: Jemima.Barnes@bl.uk to secure your place.

Archives play a vital role for most KQ organisations in linking people with their communities, their heritage and in their current work. From a wider perspective, archives can play a part in shaping research, history, public policy, education and culture.

While technology and the digital environment has posed many challenges to archives and concerns regarding the long-term preservation of records, it has also changed society’s expectations about access to those records.

These meet-ups will provide a regular, informal, but efficient, networking space for archiving and digitising professionals, and anyone interested in this area of work. They may be breakfast meetings in a roundtable format, informal afternoon coffees or tours of archive facilities. If your organisation is interested in hosting a future meeting, please get in touch.

Who is this group for?
Archiving and digitising professionals and anyone interested working within the Knowledge Quarter.

Why should I attend?
