UCL is recruiting a Communications Officer with knowledge of, and experience in, science/social science communication to join the Department of Neurodegenerative Disease.

Working to the Programme Director, the main purpose of the role is to manage further development and eventual handover of several services being delivered to meet the 2020 Dementia Challenge objectives, specifically:

  1. NIHR Dementia Research, an initiative aimed at supporting early career dementia researchers
  2. Embedding Research in Care (ERICA) Project, a project to support NHS promotion of Join Dementia Research.

The post holder will support the Programme Director in the delivery of other projects, and as required, the National Director in this role.

Applicants should have a degree or equivalent level qualification, and a qualification (or equivalent experience) in science/social science communication. Experience of designing and delivering strategic communications via a range of channels is essential, as is experience of managing communication channels to engage difference audiences, delivering public engagement activities, and working in a higher degree research environment.

The post is available from July 2020 and is funded for 12 months in the first instance by the UCLH Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).
