Wellcome is looking for an experienced communicator to lead media and communications strategies for its corporate activity.

The Media Lead will work closely with the Head of Media to develop and implement an organisation-wide media strategy to drive Wellcome’s mission. This will involve taking a strategic lead on media activities in relation to Wellcome’s corporate communications and science and innovations media relations.

The post-holder will manage a small team of media professionals and will be responsible for corporate announcements, communicating new policy positions, and news about Wellcome’s funding portfolio.

Moreover, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate extensive experience in media relations and science communications, have excellent contacts in the media and science world, as well as excellent written, editing and oral communication skills, including writing and pitching comment and opinion articles in national and international media.
