Students from Central Saint Martins MA in Biodesign will lead this hands-on workshop at the Somers Town Living Centre on the uses of living organisms as exciting new sustainable materials.

During this workshop you will hear about how and why we can transform these living organisms into plant-positive materials. You will make bioplastics from algae-derived extracts, explore alginate-based threads and composite materials made from algae and waste.

*It is recommended that you bring your own mold for casting the bioplastic. This can be any tupperware or small container (best if plastic, glass or ceramic).

This workshop takes place at the Somers Town Living Centre. All ages and experience welcome.
