The Charles Dickens Museum is seeking three people to join its non-executive Board in spring 2020.

The Museum holds the world’s most comprehensive collection of material relating to the life and work of Charles Dickens (1812-1870), and is located in the house in which he lived when he established himself as a writer in the 1830s and rose to international fame. The Charles Dickens Museum is a place of pilgrimage for people from across the country and around the world, and it is a place of learning for thousands of children and young people.

The Charles Dickens Museum recognises the value of diversity and is keen to more closely reflect the wide range of people who visit the Museum at Board level. The Museum particularly welcomes applications from people with disabilities, Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic backgrounds, LGBT+ and from different socio-economic and educational backgrounds, as these are currently underrepresented. The Museum also welcomes applications from people who live or work in the neighbourhood (Bloomsbury, Holborn, King’s Cross / St Pancras).

In addition, the Museum is looking for skills and experience in fundraising and supporter development, as well as retail and income generation.

The Charles Dickens Museum is a fully accredited independent museum (charity no 212172).
