We’re delighted to announce that the Knowledge Quarter has been extensively featured in the newly unveiled London Growth Plan.

We are recognised as a key strategic area for frontier innovation and one of only two innovation districts highlighted as a case study, an incredible testament to the strength of our partnership.

This would not have been possible without our partners‘ continued support throughout the last 10 years in ensuring that the Knowledge Quarter remains at the forefront of key Government discussions. We are deeply grateful for our powerful network of institutions, as well as the invaluable support and dedication to the Knowledge Quarter vision from Camden and Islington Councils. Together, we have built strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the GLA, London & Partners, and central Government departments.

It is no surprise that much of the messaging and objectives of the London Growth Plan closely align with the KQ 2050 Vision, which we developed collaboratively last year. At its core, this is about ensuring that growth in our area is driven by innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.

The London Growth Plan sets out ambitious goals. It is set to grow London’s economy by £107bn by 2035, with a target of restoring productivity growth to 2% per year (pre-2008 levels). It also promises to invest £300 million in skills training to create 150,000 high-quality jobs by 2028.

For the Knowledge Quarter, the Plan recognises our role not only as a leading innovation district but also as the anchor for an “industrial innovation corridor” stretching north and east to Cambridge and Stevenage. It also commits to supporting the growth of these clusters through both hard and soft infrastructure development.

We remain committed to advocating for the Knowledge Quarter’s strengths in science, technology, culture, academia, and innovation at the highest levels of Government.

In the near term, we are actively working on the newly launched AI Opportunity Zones, with more opportunities on the horizon.
