Seven Knowledge Quarter partner organisations are clustered close to the Angel. This virtual walk led by three Islington guides links these partners and tells some fascinating stories of this historic and varied corner of London.
Coaching inns, pleasure gardens, spas, elegant city squares and a turbulent history – the Angel and Clerkenwell have had them all. We want to show how this area grew from the fields beneath our streets into the creative, media and information hub that it is today.
Your guides want to present an intimate view of the history and heritage of the Angel and Clerkenwell and to relate the great stories of the area which connect us with the past.
This event is part of Knowledge Quarter Walking Tours, a series of guided rambles around the KQ curated exclusively for KQ staff, friends and family. It is being presented in partnership with the Camden Tour Guides Association and Islington Guides Association.

About KQ Walking Tours:
In the pre-covid days, the Knowledge Quarter Walking Tours were a series of guided rambles around the Knowledge Quarter curated exclusively for Knowledge Quarter staff, friends and family. Now we’re moving them to the digital realsm. Still led by experienced guides from Camden Tour Guides Association (and in this case, Islington Tour Gudies Association too), each tour in the series opens up a new chapter in the area’s history, so you can learn more about where you work, live and grab your lunch.
Our Virtual Events:
Our virtual events are becoming increasingly popular and often completely sell out. To ensure you are able to join the event, please ‘arrive’ (via the link sent through Eventbrite ) around 5 minutes before the start. This will ensure you are able to be let into the Zoom room before we reach full capacity.
Once you have signed up via Eventbrite you will receive a Zoom link by email 48 hrs before, 2 hrs before and 10 minutes before the event, please check your JUNK folder for these emails as they are sent directly through Eventbrite’s system.
You do not need to download Zoom software in order to participate – there is a web browser version which works perfectly well.
If you have any questions please get in touch with the KQ events team: Bhav or Jemima.
