Betting big on R&D means competing against other worthy funding priorities, from the NHS to schools. In 2019, to improve advocacy around R&D, the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE), in partnership with Wellcome, launched the Discovery Decade, an open access study drawing on polling data and focus groups, and mapping a range of successful advocacy strategies and campaigns.
In this session, CaSE explores the data on public opinion towards R&D, and shares insights from the Discovery Decade into advocacy campaigns, which may guide those who are connecting R&D to local communities.
