We know more about children and young people’s mental health than ever before, but there remain significant gaps in research and in provision. Prior to the pandemic, around one in eight children and young people experienced mental health difficulties severe enough to warrant specialist support, but only a quarter of those children and young people received it.
In this session, the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families explores where and why gaps in services persist in a post-COVID environment, and showcase their new Parent Platform, along with key partnerships, designed to close these gaps.
KEISHA PHIPPS, Programme Manager, Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families
Keisha supports the Anna Freud Centre as a Programme Manager, working with experts and audiences from many fields to implement the Centre’s new strategy, ‘Closing the Gap’, with a particular focus on Digital Transformation and Product and Platform Development.
Before joining the Anna Freud Centre, Keisha worked at Victim Support as a Senior Operations Manager, working on projects supporting children and young people in London. As a result of this work, Keisha has seen first hand the gaps the Anna Freud Centre’s new strategy describes, and the devastation these cause to young people and their families.
