Camden STEAM Commission

The Knowledge Quarter in partnership with Camden Council and the Wellcome Trust is launching a commission to raise aspirations and improve access to the great opportunities for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) careers within the borough.

The Camden STEAM Commission will bring together the borough’s unique blend of businesses, celebrate the existing relationships between industry and local schools, and explore opportunities for greater collaboration.

Camden’s STEAM Commission will unite STEM with the Arts and hopes to:

  • Highlight the importance of STEAM to Camden’s economy and promote its successful businesses
  • Provide information for schools, students and policy makers about what skills and experience will help with careers in STEAM
  • Identify and assess how businesses and schools can work together – giving students the experience and skills for careers in STEAM

To draw together the learning of Camden’s STEAM Commission, we will be hosting a keynote conference for local school and business leaders hosted at the Digital Catapult and a series of events at leading centres of Camden’s STEAM industries to launch an enhanced careers offer for young people and drive work to close the skills gap for local employers.

If you would like to know more about how you can be involved in the Commission, including which event may be most suitable for your organisation, please contact: Nick Humfrey, 0207 974 4027.
