Jane Hughes is Director of Communications and Public Engagement for the Francis Crick Institute. She has responsibility for maintaining and building the reputation of the Crick, and for leading the organisation’s programme to engage and inspire the public. Jane’s background is in health communications – she joined the Crick in April 2018 from the Royal College of Nursing. Prior to that, as Director of Communications at Rethink Mental Illness, she led campaigns to raise awareness and improve treatment of mental health issues. Jane spent much of her career working for the BBC, most recently as BBC TV News Health Correspondent.
