Posy Simmonds: A Retrospective (May 24 – Sep 15)

15 09 2019

- Varies
Posy Simmonds

The first major UK exhibition of leading satirist Posy Simmonds looks back at a career spanning 50 years through 150 pieces of original artwork.

It includes unseen pages from Tamara Drewe and Gemma Bovery – Simmonds’ iconic cartoon strips for The Guardian, illustrations from True Love – the first ever British graphic novel, and drawings from her latest book, Cassandra Darke.

Simmonds’ sharp satire lampoons the metropolitan middle classes, criticises gender inequality and tells compelling stories full of tragedy and desire. Since the 1980s she has been capturing the popular imagination while setting new standards in comics, and remains at the forefront of her field.

Please note this event is currently running, closing on the 15 September 2019. Find out more here.
