Addressing Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace

24 05 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

- Free, booking required

New Knowledge Quarter partner Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite KQ partners to a free introductory presentation where we will be discussing common mental health difficulties, mental wellbeing and stigma. We will also be considering some ways that employers could start to address this often overlooked issue in the workplace.

Mental health problems remain the most common reason for absence in the workplace. This costs UK industry billions of pounds per year. Stigma attached to living with mental health difficulties remains a significant barrier to people sharing their struggles, and means it remains an often neglected topic.

  • Work-related mental ill health costs the UK economy up to £26 billion every year through lost working days, staff turnover and lower productivity.
  • 60% of employees say they’d feel more motivated and likely to recommend their organisation as a place to work if their employer took action to support mental health.
  • 1 in 4 people suffer from a common mental health problem.

Come along and hear from Dr Beverley Flint and Dr Lisa Cohen, Clinical Psychologists, Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust.

If you wish to secure a place, please email us at wellbeing@candi.nhs.uk or call us on 020 3317 6466.
