Dive into the world of veterinary pathology for an evening of mystery and intrigue, including a live-streamed dissection from the Royal Veterinary College’s laboratory and hands-on experiments and activities. Please note that due to the graphic nature of dissection, this event is suggested for ages 16+.
What’s On:
6.30-7.15 pm AND 7.20-8.00pm
Two live streamed dissections, with Andrew Crook MBE, Head of Anatomy Services at the RVC and Ken Smith, Professor of Companion Animal Pathology in the Faraday Theatre. You will see a recently deceased animal, which has died of unknown causes undergo a Post Mortem. Andrew and Ken will show how Post Mortems start to unravel the process of fully understanding the cause of death.
8.30-8.50pm
Dr Henny Martineau will explain the amazing world of veterinary pathology, showing how diagnostic, forensic and research pathology work together to bring better understanding of animal diseases; their causes and future preventions.
6.30-10pm
Throughout the evening you can try out your veterinary pathology skills. Use the latest digital microscopes, hande specimens, find out about anatomy and even trying out the clothing!
