11 May | The Cockpit Effect: 40 Years of Craft Excellence | Cockpit

During London Craft Week, Cockpit’s first-ever multimedia exhibition celebrates four decades of supporting makers, blending film and photography with objects spanning jewellery, ceramics, glass, textiles, and sculpture. Open Tuesday 12–6pm, registration required. Free.

13 May | Disagreeing Well: What Does Reckoning with the British Imperial Past Involve in 2026? | UCL

A panel of historians, politicians, and writers tackle one of today’s most contested questions, chaired by UCL Professor Hélène Neveu Kringelbach. Speakers include Kwasi Kwarteng, Sathnam Sanghera, and Lavinya Stennett. 6–7.45pm, Bloomsbury Theatre.

13–14 May | An Introduction to Flow Cytometry | The Francis Crick Institute

Two courses for those new to flow cytometry: a beginner’s theory session on 14 May covering how the technology works and how to analyse data, followed by a hands-on practical day at the Crick on 13 May for those ready to run experiments with expert guidance.

21 May | Crick Crash Course: Embryo Development | The Francis Crick Institute

Researcher Naomi Moris explores how embryos develop from a cluster of cells into complex living organisms, and how stem cell models are opening new scientific and ethical frontiers. Followed by a Q&A. Free, accessible to all.

28 May | Archives Drop-In: Our Space Islington Archives

Explore posters, photographs, and press clippings from Islington’s history of women’s spaces, from community groups to healthcare services, in this monthly drop-in tied to the Our Space exhibition at Islington Museum. Free, no booking required.

8 June | Humanities Summit: Innovation Futures | University of London

Delivered in partnership with us, join this one-day summit to explore how the humanities can drive real-world innovation.

Speakers include voices from Google DeepMind, the AHRC, and Zinc Innovation Partners, with lightning talks and open discussion.

17 June–8 July | A Question of Science | The Francis Crick Institute

Professor Brian Cox returns with a new live season of this chart-topping science podcast, tackling addiction, AI in medicine, and ocean conservation with an expert panel. Recording dates: 17 June, 30 June, 1 July, and 8 July (two sessions). Tickets on sale 6 May. Free.

Together for Wellbeing 2026: Support for Social Enterprises Tackling Mental Health

Impact Hub London is seeking seven early-stage Greater London social enterprises working on the root causes of mental health challenges, from housing and employment to digital inclusion and green space.

Selected organisations receive six months (June–December) of mentoring, workshops, funding, and pitching opportunities within a dedicated cohort.

City Shaper: Paid Entry-Level Internships in the Built Environment

City Shaper is a new programme opening doors into London’s built environment, a rapidly evolving sector.

Delivered by LIFT Futures in partnership with The School of Building, it offers 18 Londoners eight weeks of part-time training followed by a 10-week paid internship in September.
