With the growing demand of social value and ESG, especially within public sector contracts, organisations need to better understand how these metrics can be incorporated profitably into their daily operations.
In this session, Islington Council’s Affordable Workplace lead shares how the Council defines social value, the ways it records and measures it, and where the added and ongoing value in ESG can be found for individual contracts and operations.

Joyce is an experienced socio-economic benefits professional who has worked for a number of local authorities, designing programmes that have delivered positive outcomes for local residents and businesses through targeted stakeholder intervention, and community engagement.
Joyce currently heads up the Affordable Workspace programme at Islington Council, utilising her social value experience to deliver affordable workspace within the borough and encourage business growth and resilience.
