SUMMARY:Future London: Technology & Built Environment
DESCRIPTION:The Knowledge Quarter and London Society presents Future London\, a new public series exploring the forces shaping London’s future – and the choices the city must make to get there.\nFuture London continues with a conversation on how technology is transforming the way we design\, build\, and experience space across the capital. \nLondon is being reshaped – not just by cranes and concrete\, but by data\, sensors\, and digital tools that are changing how spaces are planned\, used\, and understood. \nFrom smart buildings and digital twins to AI-assisted planning and adaptive reuse of underused spaces\, technology is opening up new possibilities for how the city grows. \nBut could technology actually reshape the built environment\, or will it mostly tinker at the edges? What will London’s spaces actually look like in ten years\, and is the city ready to adapt? \nPANEL DISCUSSION: What Does the Future of London’s Built Environment Look Like? \nSpeakers:\nPabelo Zamorano | Head of Geometry and Computational Design\, Heatherwick Studios\nFunmbi Adeago | Head of Building Regulations\, Principal Designer Services\, Catalyst\nRussell Curtis | Director\, RCKa Architects\nTom Holberton | Associate Professor\, Chartered Architect and Researcher\, UCL Bartlett School of Architecture [moderator] \nKey Details\nDate: Tuesday 5 May\nTime: 17:30 – 19:30\nLocation: Impact Hub London\, 1 Triton Square\, NW1 3DX \nNearest Tube Stations: Warren Street and Great Portland Street. \nPart of Future London\, a Spring 2026 series brought to you by the Knowledge Quarter and The London Society\, the event brings together voices from across architecture\, planning\, technology\, and civic life alongside Londoners with a stake in how their city evolves. \nThrough open discussion and debate\, it offers a space to question assumptions\, explore emerging possibilities\, and put people at the heart of how London’s built environment develops in the years ahead. \nFind out more about the series here. \nRSVP Here\nTickets cost £9.60\, but Knowledge Quarter members go free.

SUMMARY:KQ Social: Data in the City | Part of London Data Week 2026
DESCRIPTION:As part of London Data Week\, the Knowledge Quarter hosts an informal evening of data\, discussion and networking in partnership with UCL Grand Challenges.\n  \nLondon generates data about itself constantly – the question is what we do with it. \nFor our next KQ Social\, hosted in partnership with UCL Grand Challenges during London Data Week 2026\, we’re bringing together a cross-section of the city’s research\, innovation and policy communities to look at what the numbers are actually telling us about London right now. \nSome of it is striking. Nearly half of London’s workers are in roles where generative AI could automate a significant share of their tasks\, a figure well above the UK average. The cost of a nursery place in London runs around 44% higher than elsewhere in the country\, while a pint of milk costs roughly the same. And nearly half of all Londoners say they’d consider retraining for a ‘green’ job. \nThese aren’t just statistics. They’re signals about a city in transition: in how people work\, what they can afford\, and where they see opportunity. \nThe evening will be an informal space to connect with people working across these questions: from workforce and skills to urban sustainability and the economics of city life. Come with your data\, your research\, or just your curiosity about where London is heading. \nIf you have any queries\, please contact events@knowledgequarter.london. \nEvent Details\n\nDate: Tuesday\, 7th July\nTime: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM\nLocation: One Triton Square\, London\n\nRSVP here
