DESCRIPTION:​Join the Knowledge Quarter for a free curator tour of Everything is Connected\, an exhibition celebrating UCL’s ground-breaking neurological research and innovative collaborations between researchers\, artists and communities.\n  \nAbout the Exhibition\n​Join us for Everything is Connected\, a new art exhibition exploring UCL’s ground-breaking neurological research\, on its final day\, Tuesday 3 June\, celebrating innovative collaborations between artists\, researchers and communities\, through video\, soundscapes\, photography\, and sculpture\, many of which will be installed in UCL’s world-class centre for neuroscience centre\, currently under construction on Grays Inn Road. \nFrom a soundscape centring the often-unheard voices of young people affected by Parkinson’s\, to the administrative ‘red tape’ which patients and carers must untangle to access care\, to a card game that helps navigate the uncertainty of living with dementia\, many of the artworks interrogate time\, memory\, transformation\, and renewal\, often using water as a metaphor. \nEvent Details\n\n​Date: Tuesday 3 June\n​Location: Crafts Council\, 44a Pentonville Road\, London N1 9BY\n​Time: 08.30 AM – 10.00 AM\n\n​We will be joined by the exhibition curator\, who will deliver opening remarks and a guided tour through the gallery space. \nFor any enquiries\, please contact events@knowledgequarter.london. \nRSVP here

DESCRIPTION:​Hosted by Knowledge Quarter and Somers Town Community Association\, this event explores how retrofitting\, low-carbon design\, and community-led planning can drive sustainable\, equitable development – prioritising repair over replacement and putting people at the heart of change.\n  \n​In a city defined by constant redevelopment\, what does it really mean to live in a growing London\, especially in the Knowledge Quarter? As the built environment expands and London works towards net zero\, emissions and air pollution from construction continue to increase\, with significant consequences for local people. \n​This event challenges the narrative of growth. What if growth meant repairing instead of replacing\, working with what we already have\, and putting communities at the centre of change? \n​We’ll explore how retrofitting\, low-carbon design\, and care-centred planning can drive both climate action and social equity. These solutions aren’t without challenges; retrofitting complex buildings\, shifting mindsets\, and meaningfully involving communities in technical processes\, demand time\, trust\, and collaboration.
