DESCRIPTION:The glorious\, one and only Somers Town Street Festival returns for 2019! \nA day of amazing music\, inclusive celebrations and community fun! Expect eclectic music\, exciting intriguing talent\, fine DJ’s\, community ideals\, delicious food from neighborhood chefs\, inviting stalls\, parades\, art exhibitions & performances\, funfair\, jumble sale\, good beer\, and\, most importantly good people. \nTry and spot the Knowledge Quarter Dolly Peg!\nThe British Library is working with the Art Department at Maria Fidelis School in Somers Town to help decorate The Piazza and the rest of the Somers Town Festival site. A trail has been organised for people attending the Festival to make sure they see everything that is happening at this year’s festival; including the activity on the Piazza\, The Opening of The Story Garden and of course the main event on Chalton Street! \nA range of institutions have decorated a Dolly Peg to add to the trail – including the Knowledge Quarter. \n(Why Pegs? Pegs was an idea that came out of discussions with Maria Fidelis’ Art Department when discussing the significance of Washing Lines in Somers Town. They can therefore act to connect or link the sites together for the festival\, and to celebrate all of the groups and organisations that work in Somers Town.)
