SUMMARY:KQ Network Event: Preparing for a second outbreak with local hospitals
DESCRIPTION:Please email the Knowledge Quarter team to register your interest in attending this event. \nThe Knowledge Quarter’s Supply Chain network will hear from two hospital trusts in our geography\, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (St Pancras hospital)\, about their logistical preparations for another outbreak in coronavirus cases. \nDuring the spring\, many Knowledge Quarter partners mobilized resources at a local level to support hospitals and hospital staff battling a surge in coronavirus cases. Our partners freed up parking spaces\, supplied personal protective equipment and even developed COVID-19 testing pipelines. \nThis virtual session will consolidate the lessons from the spring\, and add further resilience to future planning in the event of another significant outbreak of cases. By the end of the session partners will have a clear idea of what resources they can offer in support of the hospitals\, and of how\, as a network\, we can be responsive and innovative to the demands of the situation. \nThe Knowledge Quarter Supply Chain network is made up of professionals working in logistics\, procurement\, estates\, facilities\, waste and sustainability. Although the session will focus on support from a supply chain and logistics perspective\, we welcome the contribution of senior staff from across the wider KQ network with an interest in closer coordination with other KQ organisations and local hospitals on this issue (that might include staff who were organising to produce PPE supplies in-house\, for example). \nConfirmed speakers and agenda: \nSt Pancras Hospital / Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust \n\nDavid Curren – Deputy Director of Nursing\, St Pancras Hospital\n\nBuilding a testing facility and in-house PPE production \n\nJames Fawsitt – Head of Logistics\, Francis Crick Institute\nJames Callaghan – Head of Supply Chain\, UCLH\nClemency Elliot – Healthcare Planner\, UCLH\n\nFuture planning \n\nKate Petts – Deputy Director of Strategy\, UCLH\nRachel Styles – Senior Property Services Manager\, UCLH\n\nThere will be opportunity for attendees to discuss practicalities and barriers to logistical support\, and share any relevant work and accomplishments over the spring/summer period. \nThursday 24 September\, 10:00-11:30 \nPlease email the Knowledge Quarter team to register your interest in attending this event. \n
