Seeking KQ partners to inspire the next generation

The KQ Apprenticeships programme is seeking partners to provide short work placements to young residents with the passion and drive to work within the Knowledge Quarter.

Camden is home to a remarkable diversity of opportunities at innovative, inspiring and prodigious businesses, a significant number of which call the Knowledge Quarter home.

Like so many KQ partners, we are committed to removing the barriers between young Camden residents and the career opportunities within the office blocks, workshops and laboratories that surround them. In 2016, partners including Brainlabs, The Francis Crick Institute and the Royal Veterinary College hosted enthusiastic Year 10 students during 1-2 week placements. Many of those young people now tell us that they are now using those incredible experiences to guide their academic and career decisions.

We’re working to expand the programme this year to include more KQ partners and to reach more young people.

KQ Apprenticeships will support partners in providing placements to Year 10s and Sixth Form students throughout 2017, including during the following half-terms:

  • Summer half-term (Monday 29 May to Friday 2 June 2017)
  • Autumn half-term (Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October 2017)

If this is something that you would like to support, or if you would like further details, please contact Tom Baines – Tom.Baines@camden.gov.uk by Tuesday 9th May 2017.
