Mental health can be complex – getting help doesn’t have to be

Launched summer 2017, www.mentalhealthcamden.co.uk is, in a single website, an ‘A to Z’ of mental health topics, with advice, information and support for anyone concerned about their mental health – or someone else’s. And though created to support Camden’s residents, the website is ‘open access’, a resource for anyone seeking help with a mental health issue. Knowledge Quarter members are asked to raise awareness of www.mentalhealthcamden.co.uk by sending the link to colleagues.

Recognising that information and support was split across numerous websites, NHS Camden Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) decided to create a single mental health website, one that would help match the needs of residents with local organisations. Currently, 100+ ‘service providers’, such as clubs, community centres, drop-ins and talking therapy providers, are listed on the site, alongside content from national organisations including Mind, plus a range of NHS guides and videos. The website will be helping professionals too, as signposting patients to further sources of help in the community is now much easier. Looking to the future, user feedback will help shape how the website evolves, with users asked for their own recommendations for local service providers.
