Alex Whitfield, Head of Learning Programmes at the British Library, is seeking partners to work together to make the Knowledge Quarter an accessible and inclusive destination for disabled visitors. We’d like to connect with partners from all disciplines to collectively map our existing programmes and projects.
The Place appoints new Chief Executive
The UK's leading organisation for dance training, creation and performance, The Place, has announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Clare Connor. Clare is currently heading up the strategic business development of the UK’s largest arts hub, Southbank Centre. Her previous roles include co-founding the national network Future Arts Centres and working as Director of Stratford Circus Arts Centre, from 2005-2014.
UKIE seeks KQ partners on new research project
Ukie (UK Interactive Entertainment) the body representing the UK’s video games industry is looking to partner on a piece of research which highlights and examines the technological innovation originating in the games/interactive entertainment industry that is then used successfully in other areas of the economy (AI, VR/AR, imaging technology).
Islington calls on its ‘breakers, graffers, and rappers’ to celebrate Word2017
Islington is calling on its young aspiring dancers, lyricists, and artists to help celebrate reading, writing, and freedom of expression, as part Word Festival 2017. This year’s festival includes a free two-day workshop (1-2 June) offering musical mentors to young poets, rappers, and lyricists, aged 13 to 18, the chance to write songs to motivate their community and transform these words into a spectacular graffiti mural – with the help of Breakin’ Convention & Lyrix Organix.

Whether the focus is NHS funding or our young royals doing their bit to help reduce stigma, it is everywhere. We know that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem in our lifetime, whilst recent research suggests that as many as 77% of employees said they had experienced symptoms of poor mental health at some point in their lives.
CILIP seeks your views on new apprenticeship standards for library and information sector in England
Employers in the library and information sector have confirmed that they will develop new apprenticeship standards with support from CILIP and other key sector bodies. A survey about vocational standards and training to test potential take up and understand the needs of the sector has been published.
