This week, a number of Knowledge Quarter partners met with Sir Alan Wilson, Chief Executive of the newly established Alan Turing Institute, a fellow Knowledge Quarter partner organisation.

He was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds from 1991 to 2004, then Director-General for Higher Education in DfES, and currently sits as Chair of the Home Office Science Advisory Council.
Sir Alan covered the strategic priorities of the Alan Turing Institute, its partnerships with industry and opportunities of how it could engage with the Knowledge Quarter. A lively discussion was had on topics ranging from the use of big data by local authorities to the ethical use of personal information in data analytics.
