Call to KQ partners to host cultural visit

Working with Greater Manchester Higher, AccessHE a division of Knowledge Quarter partner London Higher has agreed to deliver a 2 night / 3 day (Tuesday 3 – Thursday 5 July) residential summer school in London for 50 year 12 students from schools/colleges participating in the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) in the Greater Manchester area. i.e. these are students from low participation neighbourhoods and/or from other widening participation backgrounds.

The students will be divided into three subject strands for the duration of the summer school – Creative Arts, Humanities and STEM. The intention is for these strands to cover their subjects quite broadly through a mixture of both theory and practice with a particular focus on developing transferable skills and knowledge

As part of this visit, we would like to expose the students to some of London’s rich cultural and educational organisations including KQ partner organisations. AccessHE is seeking subject aligned cultural and/or educational institutions to deliver a guided visit for the students in their given subject strand. Groups will be approximately 15-20 learners in size. We are open to a broad range of institutions and merely request that these relate to either the Creative Arts, Humanities or STEM subjects. We would also welcome institutions who are able to accommodate all three subject strands simultaneously.

If you think you may be able to help in facilitating a guided tour within your organisation then please get in touch with Vanessa Baptista, London Innovation Programmes Officer on 020 7391 0693 or email vanessa.baptista@londonhigher.ac.uk.

The proposed time of visit is Thursday 5 July, 10:45-12:00.
