Artificial Intelligence and Primary Care – RCGP

The Royal College of General Practitioners want to ensure that new approaches and technologies are developed with general practice to address the pressing needs in care delivery. They have launched Evolving General Practice, a new initiative to look at new approaches and technologies and how they could impact primary care.

Using round table discussions as a forum to bring together representatives from NHS, industry, and research with GPs, patients and carers. These discussions feed into their reports, project work, guidance and educational resources.

They have produced an  Artificial Intelligence and Primary Care report to inform GPs and healthcare professionals of the impact of Artificial Intelligence in primary care. Exploring the effect this technology might have on general practice and how the College can facilitate, maximise the benefits and minimise its risks. It’s important that those involved in delivering care have the opportunity to understand, influence and co-develop the future tools for general practice.
